Mezzo busto of the 19th century in terracotta by Filippo Palizzi.\nAvalos Vasto Art Gallery (CH)\n\nFilippo Palizzi was born on June 20, 1818, in Vasto and died on September 11, 1899, in Naples.\nAlong with his brother Giuseppe, he represents the first attempt at a veristic direction in Italian painting of the nineteenth century.\nThe school of Neapolitan landscape and a spontaneous inclination led him to focus his work on a detailed observation of the "true".\nHe was among the first painters to be interested in photography and practice it based on very thorough technical knowledge.
