The cast iron block-based footstep bearing supports vertical shaft alignment. It contains a gunmetal bush with a top collar, on which the steel pad rests and is fixed in place by a non-rotating pin partially inserted into both components off-center. The bush's collar acts as an oil cup, ensuring lubrication for smooth operation.
