Foot Rest for IKEA ANTILOP High Chair (updated)
thingiverse
The one major flaw with the popular IKEA ANTILOP baby high chair is the lack of a foot rest. We came across several ideas online for adding a foot rest, but none of them met our requirements, so I designed this part myself. To make it work, you'll need to print both the left and right parts, as well as a piece of plastic or wood for the actual foot rest. I used leftover cable duct from another project, cutting it down to 37 cm in length, which allows the foot rest to be placed up to about 46 cm from the floor (note that these measurements are based on the older version of the chair). I drilled holes 1 cm from the edges for the screws and glued them into place using Araldit epoxy glue. Thanks to the long holes in the supporting parts, we can easily lower the foot rest as the baby grows. For assembly, I used four M4x30 screws. All settings are parametric, so you should be able to generate parts for other chairs too. If you need assistance, please leave a comment here, as the OpenSCAD file doesn't contain much documentation. You'll find several files in the Downloads section, including the original version I published (`antilop_footrest.scad`, `antilop_footrest_l.stl` and `antilop_footrest_r.stl`). However, I've since improved the part to make it stronger, and I've added measurements for the newer version of the chair based on user feedback. If you have the new chair with "wider" legs, use `antilop_footrest_v3_New_Chair_[LR].stl`, while if you have the old version like me, use `antilop_footrest_v3_Old_Chair_[LR].stl`.
