Foot Pedal (Xbox Adaptive Controller)

Foot Pedal (Xbox Adaptive Controller)

thingiverse

This is a custom foot pedal made specifically for use with the Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC). The pedal consists of four distinct components: the main body, the rotating top piece, a central rod around which the top piece rotates, and two rod caps that secure the rod in place. All of these parts are available as STL files and SolidWorks files. To accommodate different preferences for the angle of the foot pedal, several variations on the main body piece are included as SolidWorks files. In addition to the standard top piece that allows easy access to internal electronics, an extended top design is also available, which prevents the top from being opened beyond a certain point. Two "Monster_Top" designs are also provided, offering a unique aesthetic with a tooth-like appearance reminiscent of a monster's mouth. To complete the look, googly eyes can be added for a playful touch. Inside the pedal, there's a square slot designed to accommodate a keyboard switch, and two circular holes for small springs. The recommended keyboard switches are Blue Cherry MX Keyswitches (https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=12), which fit perfectly into the square slot. Any spring with a diameter smaller than 9.5 mm should work seamlessly in the circular holes.
