Foot Operated Hand Sanitizer Pump
thingiverse
As the world gradually gains momentum in its fight against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and cautiously starts to reopen, maintaining cleanliness has never been more crucial with the increased use of disinfectant. To this end, we were inspired by non-electric, foot-operated dispensers that can be used in public areas to allow individuals to obtain a nice squirt of disinfectants without having to touch the bottle or apparatus with their hands. In our design, we utilize commonly available PVC pipes of two types: (1) thicker outer diameter 25mm and internal diameter ~21mm; and (2) thinner inner one with an outer diameter ~20mm and internal diameter ~16mm. The latter is designed to slide inside the thicker outer pipe. There are two variants for the bottle holder, sized to fit bottles of ~80mm in diameter. The version with cut away walls can have its bottle further reinforced using zipties. An assembly diagram has been provided to illustrate how all the pieces fit together clearly. A quick video clip shows it in action - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TAuJW7KgvM Files are released under a public domain dedication, allowing this setup to be used as widely as required.
