This is the "Fool," a tribute to Cecil Collins MBE (1908-1989), a life-size bronze resin featuring his most iconic paintings. https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/search/actor:collins-cecil-19081989/page/2 Cecil Collins was a British painter of visionary subjects born in Plymouth, who studied at the Plymouth School of Art from 1923 to 1927 and then at the Royal College of Art from 1927 to 1931. In 1936, he participated in the International Surrealist Exhibition in London but quickly rejected Surrealism. Collins had a mystical outlook influenced by the prophetic writings of William Blake and the American artist Mark Tobey, who introduced him to the Baha'i religion and Eastern art philosophy. Tobey was an artist-in-residence at Dartington Hall, a progressive school in Devon from 1931 to 1938, while Collins taught there from 1939 to 1943. Lydia Karpinska holds a degree in fine arts from Central St Martins and is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. She primarily works within the figurative tradition using various techniques and approaches in bronze and bronze resin, creating artworks in different sizes.
