Food Share is a community-driven platform focused on food sharing at a hyperlocal level. It aims to cultivate culture and social interaction by using food as the means of connection. To share extra food, simply place items you won't use into the Food Share basket attached to your Grove Kit's IR sensor. If neighbors are interested in what you're offering, they can get in touch and even propose a joint BBQ or cookout. The concept is simple: just drop off spare food in the Food Share basket. When it gets picked up by your neighbor, you'll receive a notification with an image of what they got, along with details on quantity and freshness. This project draws inspiration from numerous cultures that used food as a social bridge. Now, technology steps in to connect people again.
