Food Warnings

I adore Thanksgiving. Cooking the entire meal and setting up the decorations are my absolute favorites, and using my own fancy china is a thrill. As a kid, I was never allowed to touch it, but now that I have my family, I go all out every year. If you can devour every single dish without worrying about your diet, I'm more than a little envious. However, in our household, we've got allergies galore, and the rule is simple: no one gets left behind. So, if someone can't eat something, I whip up two versions on the spot. When starting my feast prep list this year, these food labels immediately came to mind. Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Medium Infill: 10% Notes: The melting point of PLA plastic is 173–178 °C, but I've found that temperatures as low as 80 °C can be used to bend and distort it. If you put these labels directly into food hot out of the oven, they'll melt instantly. If the dish isn't at this temperature, keep in mind the label itself will likely be hotter than you think. They're a mere 1mm thick, so if your printer can't handle that, adjust it before printing. I've printed about 20 labels already on my ROBO3D, and they do the trick just fine. As others have pointed out, make sure to print yours with food-safe plastic for optimal results.
