These flutes feature a simple fingering system like a penny-whistle and are tuned over two octaves. The tenor size is modeled after traditional Irish flutes, with the tenor and soprano in D and the alto in G. These have ranges one octave above their corresponding singing voices. The instruments are provided in segmented pieces for 3D printing, which can be welded together using acetone if printed in ABS plastic. Version 2 includes thicker ends for better balance, larger embouchure holes for soprano and alto sizes, and both socketed and weldable versions. Users can choose from three sizes of instrument - tenor in D, alto in G, or soprano in D. Printing should have high wall thickness and fill percentage for a loud sound without excessive air flow. Acetone is used to connect printed pieces, with safety precautions taken. Socketed versions are also available. Fingering instructions can be found in the fingering.pdf file, and the instruments were designed using Demakein software, which can be used to design flutes in different keys and taper levels for various tones.
