Folgertech MK9 Bowden Extruder Block
thingiverse
This block makes it easy to screw in a 5mm threaded mini push connector for PTFE tubing that goes to the E3D V6 hot end. Print tolerance can vary greatly from one printer to another. To prevent extra plastic building up at corners, I add fillets on each corner before printing. Since my print was done with ABS, the 5mm hole is a bit larger than necessary due to shrinkage. I use pliers to thread the mini push connector into the block - not an ideal tool, but it works. Mounting holes are designed for 25mm machine screws, so be sure you have these on hand before printing. Due to their tight fit, be careful when assembling with close-tolerance screws to prevent any movement or wiggling. The filament hole is positioned slightly off-center, which means the block must be aligned correctly when secured with 25mm screws. If you've made this modification, share photos so we can see how it turns out! Print Settings: Printer: Folgertech 2020 Prusa i3 Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: .2 - .4 Infill: 50% Notes: Feel free to use any resolution you prefer. Since this part doesn't move or exert stress, the print quality and surface finish aren't a concern. I also experimented with printing it using ABS without encountering issues.
