Folgertech FT-6 noise reduction
thingiverse
This kit is designed to tackle noise issues in Ft-6 prints. The problem I faced was that the Two motor breakout board for X axis causes backfeeding power between the two motors, resulting in added noise during printing and reduced speed. This can force you to use larger retracts than necessary, which may lead to jams. To address this issue, a modification requires a 5 driver board and Blinkingsun's Y carriage. This setup allows both X motors to run independently with the makerbot limit switch using m3 hardware. The pulleys replace one belt clamp on each of the Y carriage, applying light pressure to dampen belt vibration. Flange Ball Bearings 3x10x4mm and m3 hardware are used for this purpose. Additionally, changing the X axis pulleys from smooth ones to 16 toothed ones is necessary. After trying these mods, please leave a comment with your feedback: Did it help? Did it fit my printer? Was it a waste of time? Was it the fix I needed?
