Because I dislike open belts below where things can fall, I created these covers for the FT-5's open z-belts. They are still a work in progress, but I have printed and made them functional. The bottom outer edge of the actual cover may need trimming to sit flat next to the bases, which can be done easily with wire cutters or a dremel. I haven't had time to make design changes yet. The base plates fit tightly over the m5 baseplate bolt heads for easy removal and inspection of the belts without taking off the baseplate bolts. You will need 4 m3 x 10 screws to screw through the top finish closure plate into the base, securing everything. If you print these and need modifications, let me know and I'll revise as necessary. Mine are on and working well but required some slight modification for them to work as printed. Design changes that improve function are encouraged. You must flip orientation before slicing to print flat side down with no supports. Remember, you will need to print 2 of each belt cover top and top three pieces. Printer Settings Printer: Folger Tech FT-5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: I used course resolution for speed but any will work Infill: I used 100% Post-Printing Trim and fit as needed, press bases over printer baseplate cap screw heads, slide cover slot over z-leadscrew and snap down into baseplate. Add top finishing closure plate and use m3 x 10 or better screws to assemble all pieces together. How I Designed This I am using OnShape but it is still a work in progress.
