FolgerTech FT-5 R2 (stock config) Part Cooler & BLTouch Mount
thingiverse
I've been searching for both a part cooler for my stock FT5 R2 and a way to mount a BLTouch. Not finding a design that suits me, I decided to create one myself. Parts connect to each other using M3 heat inserts. I obtained mine from here: https://www.amazon.com/initeq-M3-0-5-Threaded-Inserts-Printing/dp/B077CL322T A 12v fan is also required. I purchased mine from here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WMHNG5/ I'm writing a detailed post on my build process on FolgerForum.com in the R2-specific section. Here's the direct link: http://folgerforum.com/t/my-ft5-r2-part-cooler-bltouch-attachment/1975 I'll be adding more text, so please bear with me. Note: The X-Axis offset is crucial, as the carriage attachment widens the carriage sufficiently that it won't hit your x-axis offset without it. Bad consequences will occur if you can't home your X-Axis. Update: I've uploaded a revised version of the part cooler featuring significantly better airflow than the original. I essentially trimmed off the protruding bits on the sides and angled the airflow directly out from the main horizontal duct. It's still printable without supports. It might even work with PLA, as the part doesn't get extremely close to the hot end. I haven't tried that yet, but it could be possible. Looking at the new cooler from the front, it resembles a Star Wars Imperial Shuttle, so I named the file accordingly to differentiate it from the original.
