Folgertech FT-5/FT-6 Y-axis carriage mounts and belt tensioner
thingiverse
This Y axis carriage mount set greatly reduces play in the entire gantry assembly for the FT-6 printer. The Y belt tensioner is moved from the front carriage mount to the 2020 extrusion and is much more easily tensioned with a simple M3x20 bolt and a fender washer, which should fit both FT-6 and FT-5 printers. The X belt is secured with grooved caps (eight M3x10 bolts are needed) just like the Y belt is in my setup. The tensioner raises the belt travel by 6mm. This modification was done to accommodate a stepper damper on the Y axis. If you don't want to run a stepper damper, flip the pulley on the Y stepper to raise the belt travel. This setup was designed around many of my other mods, so it raises the entire Y axis by about 10mm. This adjustment regains some lost Z travel from the EZ bed leveling system for the FT-6 in my design portfolio. Print this part with a layer height of 0.2mm (including the bottom layer) and eight top and bottom layers with four layer thick walls at 25% infill. Place it upside-down on the bed in your slicer with supports turned on all over at 10% density. Tips are especially appreciated for parts like this, as they require a lot of work!
