Folger Tech Kossel 2020 Rod Arm cutting Jigs
thingiverse
I made some last-minute corrections to the OpenSCAD file after Adam Bowers spotted a problem with it, and now more dimensions are locked into variables. I created two simple hacksaw cutting jigs for the 30mm steel rods and the carbon fiber rods. I measured out 190.5mm of carbon rod length to get 240mm long arms, but double-check your own measurement before cutting - my 190.5mm might be different from yours. These jigs worked great for me, so you'll probably have success with them too. I attached the jigs to a 2x4 using #8 screws and added a short piece of 1x2 as a stop at the end, holding it down firmly while cutting. If you had #6 screws on hand, they would work even better, but I didn't. The OpenSCAD files are included so you can easily adjust the cut lengths to suit your needs. These parts printed out well in PETG with 20% infill.
