Folding Razor Blade Holder
thingiverse
For precise slicing and scoring, single-edge razor blades prove to be more effective than utility knives and significantly cheaper than hobby knife blades. This compact folding blade holder makes utilizing the blades both easier and safer. It features an integrated clip that secures the blade firmly in place, while two storage slots within the handle provide ample room for fresh blades. Be extremely cautious when handling and using razor blades, as careless use can result in serious injuries. Important note: There are two different thicknesses of single-edge razor blades available on the market, and this design specifically accommodates 0.009" thick blades with a total thickness of 0.038". Watch the demonstration video to get a clearer understanding of how it works: https://youtu.be/3-_Lgt6VY1M Instructions The printed parts were made using PLA with 0.2mm layer height and a line width of 0.4mm, without the need for supports. Both parts can be printed at temperatures slightly higher than usual to ensure good adhesion, while printing at slower speeds preserves the intricate details of the design. Using a raft will guarantee that the storage slots' openings are correctly sized. After printing, snap the pivot into place within the handle and then pull up the small flexible clip on the blade holder to slide the razor blade into its designated slot. Make sure it clicks securely back into position after the blade is fully seated. To release the blade, simply pull the clip up again. Remember to exercise extreme care when handling razor blades and avoid applying excessive force, which can lead to damage of both the blade and the holder.
