thingiverse

A versatile case designed for pens and other slender objects up to 16cm in length. Version 2 features more substantial hinges and arms, along with increased internal capacity. Approximate Capacity: 460cm^3 Internal Length: 160mm Internal Depth: 55mm Internal Height: 53mm Minimum Wall Thickness: 2mm Parts List This case consists of ten distinct components: 1 Box Top 1 Box Bottom 2 Short Arms 2 Asymmetrical Mirrored Long Arms 2 Smaller Retention Clips 2 Larger Retention Clips The shorter arms are interchangeable, allowing for flexibility in placement on either side of the box. The longer arms feature small arrow markings to indicate correct orientation and a crescent indent that aligns with the aft hinge when closed. Smaller retention clips resemble the smaller arms and slot into the top-half of the case. Larger clips have a distinctive bump and insert into the bottom-half of the case, ensuring secure closure. Assembling the Case Begin by placing one short arm and one long arm on a single side of the top-half of the case, followed by insertion of a small retention clip. The clip should snap into place, holding the arms in position. Next, slot the remaining ends of the arms into the bottom half of the case, ensuring it can close fully. Verify correct placement of the long arm and secure with a large retention clip on the bump side facing inward. Open the box and insert the opposite pair of arms, followed by the second large retention clip. Finally, open the case halfway to insert the final small clip, which may require extra effort due to limited clearance. Printing Notes Small parts in this print should be fabricated with thicker outer walls or denser infill for added stability. As this design has not been printed personally, proceed at your own risk.
