This is just a basic framework for the smartwatch's mechanics, minus any electronic components. It's essentially a proof-of-concept model that doesn't include electronics, making it bulkier than ideal due to the inclusion of gears that can be purchased online instead of machined in-house. Nonetheless, users will still need to file down these gears to achieve thinner dimensions. When you lift up the watch face, the gears unfold into a functional keyboard. This design aims to fit a large enough keyboard within a space as compact as a standard watch. I believe that without a functional keyboard, a smartwatch loses its primary purpose. Ideally, the watch lid would be attached to the main axle via a torsion spring, ensuring that any applied pressure on the keyboard or screen won't damage the moving parts.
