I needed a mechanism to keep the paddle out of my way while I'm fishing, so I came up with this ingenious solution. The hook will not only allow me to easily maneuver the paddle but also fold neatly inside the canoe when I'm done using it, freeing up space for me to install the cover on top. Once the design was finalized, I cut a few 3mm carbon fiber rods into pin-sized pieces and used them as reinforcements to hold the hook together. A small dot of CA glue at one end kept everything in place securely.
