Folding Chair Hinge Points (now right and left)
thingiverse
This is the upper, front left (driver-side) hinge point for collapsible-style camping chairs featuring approximately .640" diameter tubing. The original pieces were interchangeable between the left and right sides, but this piece has been reinforced to fit only on the left side. For chairs with 7/8" tube, scaled up versions are available in files named "875tube." Some users have mirrored the original left piece, which may work on the right (passenger) side. Other essential pieces for this chair style include a back support from CodeCreations (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21805), a back hinge piece by EagleApex (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:26757), a foot piece, and a rear sliding piece by joejames38 (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:617412). When replacing the hinge point, ensure your extrusion or feedstock multiplier provides strong layers for maximum strength. Use 5 shells and 25% infill. To remove the old part, drill out the rivets with a 1/4" drill bit using vice grips. Install the new piece using two 8-32 x 1 1/2" round head machine screws and nuts; apply Loc-tite for added security.
