Folding Box for Arduino Uno

Folding Box for Arduino Uno

thingiverse

Combines Arduino Uno and a breadboard into one sleek container. Diverging from Jason Welsh's folding Arduino lab, this compact box has no space for parts storage or an Arduino shield attachment. Designed to be used with tools like the Sidekick starter kit - where my breadboard originates. Magnetic closure enables convenient portability while carrying. Modify the design using SolidWorks files I've included for all the components. I built this project because my daily school commute necessitates a more compact enclosure. 14 Dec 2014: New versions of two parts were added with pre-drilled holes to guide power and ground wires directly to the breadboard. 29 Mar 2016 Additional step files have been added, facilitating importability into other CAD software. Instructions: Parts have roughly 0.5 mm slack for tolerances in printing; it worked for me as printed. Post-printing operations require drilling pre-marked holes on the Arduino side for secure attachment (2.5 mm screws recommended). The magnets must be approximately 3mm high and 6mm diameter - geomag toys sell such components that can be easily severed. A 1mm wire (like paperclips) works well as a hinge material; however, some trimming with sidecutters and twisting may be required for proper fit.
