Folded dipole antenna (parametric)
thingiverse
Human: Parametric folded dipole antenna support. Disclaimer: Building this antenna is extremely challenging and requires precise fine-tuning. The small segments used for 2.4GHz are sensitive to soldering, which can significantly impact performance. Without an antenna analyzer like the N1201SA, you may waste time and money trying to build it. Once printed, simply bend the wire around the support to create the final antenna shape, ensuring deformation resistance with the remaining structure. Edit the .scad file to adjust: * Frequency (in MHz) * Cable velocity * Desired height * Additional parameters as needed Alternatively, open the Thingiverse Customizer for automated calculations, including shielded wire length (displayed in millimeters) through the OpenSCAD console. Example output: <code> ECHO: "Folded dipole antenna parameters" ECHO: "- Frequency: ", 2430 ECHO: "- Lambda: ", 123.371 ECHO: "- Exposed cable length: ", 163.327 ECHO: "- Antenna width: ", 58.6014 ECHO: "- Top section: ", 43.6014 ECHO: "- Balun cable length (shield): ", 43.18 ECHO: "" ECHO: "The whole cable length from the board to the folded antenna should be a multiple of 1/2 wavelength (lambda) with cable velocity, like the balun: ", 43.18 </code> Remember to inspect your build carefully before connecting any new antenna to your TX/RX unit for continuity and other issues.
