Foldable tablet stand
thingiverse
A while back, I created a super simple tablet stand that was printed from a design by sekogan on thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:104534). My girlfriend has used it extensively - she breaks several of them at times because she always keeps one in her bag while traveling and commuting. I therefore designed this foldable tablet stand to be compact enough for easy carrying in a bag's pocket. Depending on how you position the stand, your table will either stand up to 60 degrees or tilt to 70 degrees, provided it's a 7mm thick tablet. Post-Printing Instructions: Firstly, print both "long" and "short" parts separately, then assemble them together with an M3 machine screw (any length between 12 and 20mm is fine). I included a bit of playroom in my design for adjustments but after printing my pieces required additional clearance. To fix this, file off some extra material from the short part's "ears." Next, drill accurate holes: go through to 3mm diameter throughout the long part; drill only halfway through to 3mm diameter on the short part. With tight hole diameters in place, you won't need to apply any additional fastening compounds like loctite for a snug fit.
