Foldable PrintInPlace Card- Token- Resourcetray
thingiverse
There are several great designs for cardholders or resource trays. Most of the time those are rather 'bulky'. With this design, I tried to come from a different angle. I created the trays in such a way that during storage/transport, they can be stored flat. They have a height of 4mm. In that way, they can even be stored in the game boxes for bringing them to the game night. They can be transformed into card holders (front doors open) or resource/token trays (front doors closed). With this initial release, I created two sizes: one for mini European card sleeves (47x70 sleeve size) and standard card sleeves (66x91 sleeve size). Printing: The models are full print-in-place files. Tolerances for the hinges should be manageable by a lot of printers (hopefully). After printing, it can be that some force is required to break all pieces from their counterparts. The locking mechanism for the front and back walls is tight. But after a few closing and openings, they should get easier with still giving enough grip that the tray doesn't fall apart. For the first model to print I suggest printing the smaller model to see if there are any problems based on the calibration/tolerance of your printer. I plan to create further models (also with a lower wall size). The parametric design is still not so robust for a release to the public. If you have requests/ideas, please send them and help me improve this idea. If you like my work, please leave a like or comment as well. Happy printing
