foldable multiwii quadcopter
thingiverse
This is my first foldable quadcopter, designed for hiking adventures in the mountains. The model was created using Creo Elements Express, a free CAD package from PTC, allowing for easy modifications. Watch it soar in this video: http://youtu.be/YMQ7jQ2xo2A. The main photo displays the quadcopter after its first crash, surviving a 20m fall with only broken legs. Find more details on my site: http://www.muellerr.ch/quadcopter-5/. For assembly, 3D print the following parts: house_1 to house_6, mount_1 to mount_4, ball_1 to ball_3, and legattachment. Cut an 8mm carbon rod into two 50cm pieces, three 70mm pieces from a 4mm rod, and various lid sizes from 1mm birch plywood. Assemble using M3 bolts for motor attachment and M2 bolts as needed. Required materials include four Turnigy Multistar 10A ESCs, four Turnigy MT2204-14T brushless motors, four 8x4.5 propellers (CW and CCW), a 2S 2200mAh lipo battery, a Multiwii Mini (40x40), and an RC receiver.
