Foldable FPV Quadcopter
thingiverse
For months, I've been eager to build a drone, so I decided it was time to create one using 3D printing technology. After searching extensively for designs, none truly caught my eye. While some drones were touted as 'foldable', their arms would not completely collapse due to interference with each other. Consequently, I set out to craft my own version of a foldable quadcopter. Key Features: All holes are designed for M3 screws (Nylon 30mm M3 standoffs are highly recommended.) Foldable quadcopters have strap mounts (26mm x 3mm hole) that allow users to secure the battery or GoPro camera to both bases. On-board mounts: two 30.5mm x 30.5mm platforms accommodate flight controllers and ESC 4-in-1 units. Motor mounts are specifically designed for motors with diameters ranging from 16mm to 19mm. The folded dimensions of this drone measure approximately 180mm, while the fully opened (flight) dimensions reach around 330mm. Required Components: 8 pc - M3x8mm screws 8 pc - M3x40mm screws 8 pc - M3 locknuts 32 pc - M3 washers Additional Materials Needed: Zip ties Loctite Electrical tape Heat shrink Straps (various) If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to share them. I plan to update the files as needed based on feedback from users. If you discover any errors or would like a specific feature added, let me know. Updates: March 12, 2017: Initial version uploaded. March 14, 2017: Version 2 released, featuring modified arm mounting on both top and bottom bases. Motor arms were also redesigned to reduce print time and material usage. Printer Settings: FolgerTech Prusa i3 2020 Rafts: None Supports: Not required Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 75% for arms, 25-50% for bases
