This is based on the original thing by ChaosCoreTech and the subsequent remix by Cyphn.\r\n\r\nI was not satisfied with the stability of the core/logo mechanisms in either the original or remix, so I decided to rework the model for better stability and reduced snapping/breaking risk.\r\n\r\nI designed a secure mechanism to keep logos properly oriented. The cap pieces snap together easily and are also easy to remove. You can view my cross section analysis to see what the snapping mechanism looks like.\r\n\r\nYou can also watch this explosion animation to see how it is assembled.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the original open/batarang function, the blade folds down about halfway so it can be used in a slashing or stabbing motion with a comfortable grip.\r\n\r\nThe tolerances on the core/wings are designed to fit tightly together. It will be a very tight fit, but I've printed out several successful models. If you're not satisfied with how tight they are, some light sanding should do the trick.\r\n\r\nI reused Cyphn's limiting wall on the rear cap piece so the blade is limited in its opening range. This piece can be prone to snapping/breaking, but I've come to prefer it without this nub since the tolerances are tight and the blade stays where you set it. If you also prefer it this way, simply snap it off.\r\n\r\nOverall, I believe this design incorporates the best ideas from both inspirations and provides a very stable/strong core/cap mechanism.\r\n\r\nThanks so much to ChaosCoreTech for making his F360 files available for use. It saved me a lot of time.
