Foldable 5V solar panel to power or recharge portable devices

thingiverse

This project involves creating a compact, foldable solar panel using inexpensive 100mm x 69mm epoxy-covered solar panels, available on eBay for less than $3 each. One panel delivers 5.5V @ 150mA under optimal sunlight conditions. Combining five of these panels in parallel creates a power source delivering 500mA throughout the day, which can be used via USB to charge or drive your mobile devices. The solar panels are mounted and fixated within the frame structure, while wiring is done by connecting plus poles together and minus poles separately. STL files are provided for a pack of five panels, but the SCAD file allows for customization in terms of panel number. Additionally, there's an updated version using larger solar cells that deliver 500mA at 5V each.
