This nearly new Fokker F-27 Friendship model, rebuilt in 2016 with enhanced geometry and textures, boasts detailed external features based on available drawings. It's built near to scale and comes with animateable features like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. The model is available in various formats including 3ds, obj, lwo, asc, dwg, dxf, u3d, and obj. The Fokker F-27, a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger airliner, was designed by Fokker in 1950 and had its maiden flight in November 1955. Due to tail heaviness, it underwent modifications like a fuselage stretch that added three feet and three seats. From 1958 to 1987, over 500 Fokker F-27s were built, with another 400+ produced by Fairchild Hiller in the US under license, including a stretched version called the FH-227. Many of these aircraft later served as cargo/express package planes for FEDEX before their retirement by the end of 2009, with only a few remaining in service today. The F-27 led to further developments like the Fairchild Hiller 227 and the Fokker F-50 and F-60 series aircraft.
