This almost new Fokker F-27 Friendship model, completely rebuilt in 2016, boasts higher quality geometry, all-new textures, and additional features. Built near to scale and with intricate detailing based on available drawings, it comes fully textured and with materials for the featured livery. Animated features include ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. The model is available in multiple formats, such as 3ds, obj, lwo, asc, dwg, dxf, u3d, and obj. The Fokker F-27 is a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger airliner designed by Fokker in 1950 and first flown in November 1955. Due to its tail-heavy design, a 3-foot fuselage stretch was added in front of the center of gravity, increasing seating capacity. Production began in 1958 and continued until 1987, with Fokker building over 500 and Fairchild Hiller producing another 400+ under license, including a stretched version called the FH-227. After service as passenger planes, many were converted to cargo/express package services, particularly for FedEx. However, all such conversions had been retired by the end of 2009, with very few remaining in service today. The F-27's legacy includes the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, a stretched version, and further design developments like the Fokker F-50 and F-60.
