This rebuilt almost new Fokker F-27 Friendship model, created in 2016, boasts higher quality geometry, all-new textures, and innovative features. Constructed near to scale, it includes an array of animatable features such as ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and landing gear doors. Available in multiple formats including 3ds, obj, lwo, asc, dwg, dxf, u3d, and obj, this model is fully textured with materials for the shown livery. The Fokker F-27, a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial passenger airliner, was designed by Fokker in 1950 and took its maiden flight in November 1955. Due to tail-heavy design, it required modifications and an extension of three feet in front of the CG, adding three seats capacity. Produced from 1958 to 1987, over 900 Fokker F-27s were built, with another 400+ by Fairchild Hiller under license, including a stretched version called the FH-227. After serving as passenger airliners, many were converted for cargo/express package service and flown by FEDEX until retirement in 2009. Only a few remain operational today. The F-27's legacy led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227, the Fokker F-50, and F-60 series.
