This nearly new Fokker F-27 Friendship model was fully rebuilt in 2016 with enhanced geometry, all-new textures, and added features. It boasts near-scale dimensions based on available drawings and features an array of animatable parts like ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder, propellers, landing gear, and doors. Included formats are 3ds, obj, lwo, asc, dwg, dxf, u3d, and obj. As a twin-engine turbo-prop commercial airliner, the Fokker F-27 was initially designed by Fokker in 1950 with its first flight occurring in November 1955 under the control of Hugo Burgerhout. Due to tail-heavy design, modifications were made, and a 3-foot fuselage stretch was added to improve balance and capacity. Production began in 1958, lasting until 1987, with Fokker producing over 500 units and Fairchild Hiller manufacturing another 400+ under license, including the stretched FH-227 variant. Many were later converted into cargo/express aircraft, serving FEDEX as feeder cargo planes before retirement by 2009. The F-27's legacy led to the development of the Fairchild Hiller 227 and further design advancements in the Fokker F-50 and F-60 series.
