The Fokker DVII was the premier fighter plane during World War I, manufactured by Reinhold Platz for the Luftwaffe. With an impressive production count of 3,300 before the war's end, this aircraft boasted a top speed of 124 mph and unmatched maneuverability. Its design stemmed from a competition among Germany's elite fighter pilots who sought improvements for stability and performance. Manfred von Richthofen's recommendations led to adjustments like lengthening the fuselage and adding a triangular fin, making it difficult to shoot down in combat. After the war, Fokker DVIIs were surrendered to the Allies but continued flying into the 1930s. In the U.S., they were even used for air mail delivery by the Army Signal Corps in the 1920s. This model features detailed exterior and cockpit design, animateable parts like landing gear, rudder, ailerons, and a highly-detailed Mercedes engine.
