The Fokker DVII, regarded as WWI's best fighter plane, was designed by Reinhold Platz for Germany's Luftwaffe. Before the war ended, 3,300 were produced at speeds up to 124 mph, outperforming most allied fighters. It was a product of a German fighter pilot competition that led to design improvements by Platz. Manfred von Richthofen initially found the V11 model dangerous but later recommended the Fokker DVII after changes. Known for its durability and easy handling in combat, it left an impact on air warfare. After WWI, Germany surrendered the planes to allies who used them into the 1930s worldwide. The US Army Signal Corps even utilized Fokker DVIIs for air mail delivery in the 1920s. The model boasts detailed exterior and cockpit features, animateable components like landing gear, rudder, ailerons, cockpit controls, and propeller, and showcases the Mercedes engine's top-end details.
