The Fokker DVII, arguably WWI's top fighter plane, was designed by Reinhold Platz for Germany's Luftwaffe. Produced at a rate of 3,300 before the war ended in 1918, it boasted speeds up to 124 mph, outmaneuvering most allied planes. The aircraft design resulted from a competition involving top German pilots; Manfred Von Richtoven helped refine its design. Easy to fly and hard to shoot down, the Fokker DVII left a lasting impact on WWI air warfare. After the war, Germany surrendered these planes to Allies, who used them into the 1930s worldwide; even the US Army Signal Corps utilized them for air mail delivery in the '20s. This model features detailed exterior and cockpit textures, animateable parts like landing gear and ailerons, and accurate Mercedes engine representation.
