This is a custom focuser designed specifically for the Celestron Nexstar 4SE telescope. You will need to assemble three distinct components: the motor base, a protective cover, and a stabilizing plate to secure the Arduino Nano in place without allowing it to move. The screws required are M3 diameter and as short as possible. The setup includes two GT2 pulleys connected by a belt that has been cut to the precise length and secured with glue. Key components include an Arduino Nano microcontroller, an ULN2003 driver chip, and a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor. The software used for this focuser is Ardufocus, developed by J.Brazio, whose work is greatly appreciated. The Arduino is connected to a Raspberry Pi via Ekos/Kstars/Indi software, facilitating seamless control and automation of the focusing process.
