We're thrilled to introduce our latest project - a 3D Virtual Reality Headset that's unlike any other. In an era dominated by cutting-edge tech like Oculus and Gear VR, we decided to take a step back in time to create a retro-styled headset with old-school stereoscopic fun. You can craft your own 3D images, print out VR glasses, and have a blast! Here are our Print Settings: Rafts: No Supports: It doesn't matter The design is remarkably simple - nearly all parts are flat, making it super-easy to print. However, we were unable to print some standard 25mm Google Cardboard VR lenses by ourselves (these can be easily found on eBay), and a couple of rubber bands. After printing, keep in mind that there are multiple ways to create stereoscopic slides. In our work, we mainly used professional 3D software like Autodesk 3DS Max, Maxon Cinema 4D, and Otoy Octane Render. But the internet offers many easy-to-use apps, such as 3defy (http://www.3defy.com), that can help you create your own masterpieces. Check out FVR in action here: You asked about my design process: I began by analyzing Google Cardboard VR. It's a great tool, but we wanted to do something unique. Our goal was to bring back the excitement of childhood with retro, low-fi stereoscopic gadgets. We aimed to produce around 300 FVR units, which required optimizing the design for cost-effectiveness and semi-mass production techniques. We managed this by creating a light, open-body structure that replaced expensive transparent slides with standard paper printed photos. After numerous handmade and digital prototypes, we arrived at our final design. This project was short but highly enjoyable and interesting. And now for the really fun part! Thanks to our flexible design, one of my colleagues showed us how easy it is to hack FVR using a larger rubber band. With this modification, you can attach any smartphone and use FVR as regular 3D VR glasses! Just like Google Cardboard VR, Samsung Gear VR, or other models, experience VR apps, 360-degree movies, 3D content, and more with FVR.
With this file you will be able to print Focus VR with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Focus VR.
