thingiverse
This CNC-foam cutter is the product of a project done by group 5 during the 41030 Mechatronics Design at the Technical University of Denmark. The foaminator is produced both in the workshop and on a laser cutter. It operates on the H-bot principle using G-code and is run by two steppermotors. The code for homing can be found on this link:https://github.com/thomas-sonderby/grbl/commit/35d4c664c9e9c362151fed1b296dfc0de0387252 Attached are either files to be lasercut and files to be produced in the workshop. The specifications of the components can be found on the Bill of Materials file Instructions CONSTRUCTION OF THE PARTS: The acrylic sides of the sledges, cross beam and the corner stabilizers are produced on a lasercutter. Files are found above. The rest is made in the workshop and technical drawings can be derived from the CAD-files. The base is made of 10 mm plywood and measures 515x515x120 mm, which are outer dimensions. COMPUTER: A PSU applies 12 volts to two stepper motors, 5 volts to a nichrome hotwire and 5 volts to two diodes placed in the middle sledge.
