Foamcast Radio Tactical Patch

Foamcast Radio Tactical Patch

thingiverse

This is an exclusive patch featuring the Foamcast Radio logo that you can print out and attach to your tactical gear to show off your love for the world's biggest podcast dedicated to foam blaster toys! We're proud to have created this patch in partnership with Ben Anderson, the host of Foamcast Radio. There are two versions available. Both patches are roughly the same size as an OutOfDarts patch. Version #1 is a standard patch that consists of a single print job and has been thoroughly tested. It's also the one featured in our photographs. Version #2 is a prototype, where the letters FR and the "waves" design are separated from the main base, allowing you to print them out separately in different colors if you prefer not to use paint to fill in the logo. We recommend using a small amount of superglue to enhance the friction fit. Please note that Version #2 has not been test printed yet, so if it doesn't assemble properly for you, please leave a comment with a detailed description and possibly a photo, so we can diagnose the issue. Update: After Ben kindly shared his thoughts on the multi-colored patch, I enlarged it by a factor of 1.1x to hopefully make the logo components attach seamlessly without any need for sanding or friction fitting. Unfortunately, some glue might still be required. The "Foamcast Radio Patch Version #2 Component3 (Base with impressions)" STL file has been replaced with the "Foamcast Radio Patch Version #2 Component3 (Base with impressions upscaled)" STL file. There's also a new file called "Base" without any impressions, making it easier to position the logo components correctly. If you have any suggestions for future patches or designs, don't hesitate to share them by commenting below or sending me a private message! The following tutorial outlines the series of steps I took to achieve the finished product featured in our photos.
