I made an FT Tutor as a tail dragger, but didn't want to actually drag the tail, of course. Nor did I want to put a skid on it like the plans tell you. So I made this clip to attach to the rudder. You use landing gear wire down a hole the length of the clip with a 90 degree bend at the front. It then runs down the channel in the front of the clip. I then make a slight bend towards the back to add some caster and do a couple offset bends to center the wheel under the rudder before doing the final 90 degree sideways bend that the wheel sits on. You then glue the clip to your rudder with the pivot point as close as possible to the hinge point and put a couple skewer pieces through the holes in the clip to make sure it doesn't fall off. Put a few dabs of glue on those skewers and you should be good to go! While I made this for the Tutor, it should probably work with any taildragger plane made with dollar tree foamboard.
