Foamboard FPV Wing Pod
prusaprinters
I needed a pod to mount a nano FPV camera to a scratch built FPV wing using 6mm foamboard. There was nothing really around, so a few hours in OnShape and this is what i came up with. The side and main plates offer a bit protection for the camera, the main plate has a small cutout so there's nothing in view when you slightly angle the camera down. The main plate also has slots for fitting battery straps through slots cut into the foamboard, then thinner slots in the top plate to hold it a bit tighter. I mounted a nano sized 400mw VTX behind the camera and a 20x20mm Flight Controller on the top plate, although i will probably make another version that extends the top plate further back and a bit higher for a bigger Ardupilot FC I want to try out.If you need more nose weight for CG you can scale the side plates to make them thicker or fill in a few of the holes.Printed in PETG with .2mm layer, 4 walls and 100% infill.Print laying flat, 2 sides plates then one of each. I mirrored the side plate just to have a nicer finish, but my auto level is out and waiting on a replacement part so it does look much better anyways.Assemble with CA glue, glue the parts to one side plate then glue the other side plate on.
