Foamboard clips
pinshape
A set of three variations of retaining clips are designed specifically for use with 5mm thick foamboard in model-making applications. These clips securely hold sections in place after applying glue (PVA) and waiting for it to set. They can also be used to check that all components are aligned properly before adding glue. The clips themselves are very small, featuring walls that are just 1mm thick and each measures 10mm high. The retaining part of each clip is designed to hold the foamboard in place, measuring 15mm long. Using a combination of all three clips should cover all junctions in a model. UPDATE: A spacer clip has been added to the collection. This open-ended clip fits along the length of two foamboard sheets and can be used at any position to hold long sheets together without gluing. It is particularly useful for open box constructions, making it ideal for exhibitions. The spacer clip creates a gap of 1mm, but this is barely noticeable. UPDATE: A small version of the centre spacer has been added to the three variations of retaining clips. This smaller spacer becomes an integral part of each clip and makes it possible to build a box from foamboard using only corner clips and no glue. The resulting construction will feature a space of 1mm due to the wall thickness of the clips, but it still functions as intended.
