Foam Dart Warhead

Foam Dart Warhead

This is a replacement tip for Nerf type foam darts. The warhead is intended to be printed in a flexible material, and features a hollow point, so that a small "pop-it" noisemaker charge can be inserted, effectively creating an explosive tipped dart. The darts, however, will perform just fine without the charge. The design is patterned after the streamlined Nerf dart, and has been verified to operate correctly in magazine fed blasters.http://youtu.be/vbKdHL00LGQ Instructions Printed on a Replicator 2 using Ninjaflex at 220 degrees with an extrusion speed of 30 mm/s. No supports are needed. Once printed, simply (carefully) remove the existing tip from a dart and glue in the replacement warhead. Once the glue dries, CAREFULLY insert a charge into the tip. I've had more than one pop in my fingers when loading (it doesn't hurt, but it is very startling). With the charge loaded, go forth and wreak havoc. NOTE: The pop-its will only snap when striking a hard surface like a wall. So hitting a person probably won't cause detonation. In the world of office warfare, I use these mostly for shock and awe.
