Foam Boat

Foam Boat

To create this little boat, I utilized a foam knee pad as the hull template, which can be found at garden or discount stores for around a dollar. A homemade CNC machine was employed to carve the pattern from the foam, although it's also possible to do so by hand using a Dremel tool. The keel and rudder were fashioned from a gift/credit card, with a template guiding the cuts. To secure these components, make shallow cuts in the hull's bottom and back for the keel and rudder, respectively. For the sail, trace and cut out a template from a plastic bag. Attach it to a coffee stir using hot glue, then insert it into the front hole of the hull. To secure the rear of the sail, glue a small toothpick to it and push it into the foam. Lastly, reinforce any loose areas with more hot glue.
