Foam blaster air stripper
thingiverse
This is a prototype air stripper designed specifically for Nerf-type foam blasters. The concept revolves around attaching it to the muzzle of a blaster, where the ports will efficiently eliminate excess air as the dart exits the muzzle. According to theory, this sudden expulsion of excess air disrupts the dart's trajectory, leading to inaccurate shots. I crafted mine to fit over a 9/16-inch brass barrel, but the included scad file enables customization for almost any setup. Additionally, you can utilize the makerbot customizer to edit parameters and generate a customized model by clicking the "view source" button to access parameter descriptions. Further testing is necessary to fine-tune this device for optimal performance (port sizes, cone dimensions, barrel insertion depth), but preliminary tests suggest that full-length darts exhibit reduced wobbling with less spiraling.
