FMS Ranger 1800 glider lift support (back pack)
thingiverse
A custom back pack to use the FMS Range 1800 as a glider lifting platform. It will mount without big cutouts or modifications. The wing-join is used as mounting place and once mounted the wings it will hold itself. It can lift gliders up to aprox. 2m wingspan and 1kg of weight. The relase of the glides is made by a slim wing servo to reduce drag causing surface. I used a Corona CS-239MG but anyone similar it should do. Whats to print: - 1 Seitenteil_links - 1 Seitenteil_rechts - 1 Mittenteil - 2 R1B - one left and one right (mirror it in your slicer) - 3 R2 - one left and two right (mirror it in your slicer) - 2 Anschlag - one left and one right (mirror it in your slicer) To finish you need: - two pieces carbon tube aprox 20cm, 5mm diameter - two carbon rods 2mm - some music wire 1.2mm - some self-tapering screws diameter 2mm - 6 screws M3x16 and 2 self-blocking nuts M3 - 4 screws M2x16 ans 4 nuts M2 - a small wing servo - some cyanacrylate glue - 2 or 4 rubber bands with about 100mm diameter. Strength and hardness depends on which glider you want lift, in any case it is better to use two or three more elastic bands than one single strong one.
