FlySky FS-i6 Rechargeable MOD
thingiverse
I chose to create a custom battery cover for my Flysky FS-i6 that enables me to utilize a single rechargeable 18650 battery stick. By incorporating USB functionality, I made the design even more versatile since I can now power it with any USB-enabled source. The voltage will only reach as high as 5.21v due to the presence of a 5v boost converter, and when it drops below this level, an alarm will still sound because the boost converter allows the transmitter to read 3.x volts accurately. I did have to make some adjustments to the back door model I used, but otherwise, Benbojangles' design was spot on (thank you). Through simulator testing, I've determined that the battery life can sustain a consistent 3 hours of playtime per day for four consecutive days before requiring a recharge.
