Flying Tourbillon Model III
thingiverse
I was thoroughly unimpressed with Model II, so here's a superior example for #teamplanetary. This version employs the same fundamental mechanics but shifted to one side for an even more compact, albeit slightly taller overall design. Unlike its predecessors, this model boasts a 20-second tourbillon rather than a 60-second version. Consequently, it successfully meets my original goal of being powered by an ID tag. I'm not convinced that this iteration is as accurate as the first one (depicted above) due to the unbalanced tourbillon cage. Nevertheless, it still ticks away merrily for just under a minute, limited only by the length of my ID tag chain. The frame and base require reinforcement. Two-millimeter pins hold the frames together, and I reinforced them with PVA glue for added stability.
