Flying Spark

Flying Spark

thingiverse

This is a 3d printed mini quad designed to be strong and easy to travel with, having arms that can be quickly removed or replaced. You can see a writeup on it here with some flight videos. It is designed in OpenSCAD around the Sparky flight controller which is a small flight controller I designed that fits within the body. The forward facing camera is a Mobius and the battery slides in below both of these. This keeps the design slick looking and aerodynamic. I'm quite happy with the performance (10+ min with 1500mAh) and the resulting videos (e.g. https://vimeo.com/99939830 ) 2014-09-01: uploaded minimal.stl which is a more minimal body component that keeps the flight controller exposed. Instructions I printed the arms and body with 30% infill, 3 shells. Then simply plug the arms into the body and drop one screw through the locking hole to secure each arm. Can be disassembled in a few minutes.
