Flying RC Jet engine for EDF radio control electric ducted fan planes with airborne shots

ANNOUNCEMENT - Delighted and congratulations to Tommy Mubarak for successfully flying Zortrax M200 printed engines on a Nigerian model flyer. View photos here. See the exciting YouTube video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oow1ppcij9o. Tested jet engine housing has been designed specifically for edf ducted fans, with a scale of 10 times actual size to overcome issues with Setchup. To achieve 70mm EDF units, reduce the model file to 10%. The last photo showcases the plane that inspired this design - the Britten Norman Islander ducted fan version. The fan units can be sourced from eBay by searching for '2x 70mm Duct Fan 3000KV motor + 2x Mystery 60A brushless ESC+ Program Card B'. This is my very first Thingiverse upload. Watch a detailed video explanation here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J75adKruarc&t=7s. The engine casing has been successfully tested on 70mm EDF units, but it can easily be scaled for other sizes of EDF units. To integrate the EDF unit, simply cut off the lugs and superglue it into the casing - a straightforward process that works well with mine, which were printed using Zortrax M200 and M300 printers. A notable point to consider is that a ducted fan setup generates a significant back pressure behind the fan, which is converted into thrust by the internal geometry of the engine. In my experiment, a straight-through 'ducted fan' design failed to produce satisfactory results, but this specific design works just like a full-size turbofan - with electric motors replacing gas engines, nearly all the thrust comes from the fan shoving air straight out through the engine nozzle geometry, achieving impressive performance.
